Review – Frog Hollow Farm’s Apricot Conserve

I purchased conserves from Frog Hollow Farm for the first time last week to use for the Roast Pork with Apricot Miso Glaze Bon Appétit magazine recipe.  I am so glad my husband picked up two jars.  The apricot conserve is absolutely divine.  I new it would be, since every pear, peach, and plum I’ve purchased from the Frog Hollow Farm stand at the market has been sweet and juicy, with fruit juice dripping down my wrists.

It’s apple season again.  Apples have long been a favorite fruit.  I especially love apple desserts.  This is a fairly quick-cooking, at very easy apple topping recipe.  I love using atop Browned Butter French Toast or pancakes, mixing it into plain yogurt for a dessert, or using it as a topping for vanilla ice cream.

Making your own fruit topping for pancakes, French toast, cheesecake, or ice cream is quick and easy.  You can use fresh fruit, or frozen, and you control the amount of sugar.  Most bottled fruit toppings are full of corn syrup, and for me they never have enough fruit in them.  Make your own!
