Here’s an easy, slightly sweet breakfast bread. Great for breakfast, a snack with tea, or French toast. The smell of this bread just out of the oven is delicious.

Tuesday, September 14th, 2010I found this recipe in David Chang’s Momofuku cookbook and it is now a regular go-to recipe for me. It’s quick and easy. Great for a snack, side, or garnish. You can pickle a variety of different vegetables with this recipe too. I’ve also combined salt and sugar pickled cucumbers and radishes in a single dish. A friend mentioned her mom would make a similar pickled salad dish of cucumber, daikon, and carrot at the beginning of the week and they would eat it all week. A salad that actually gets better with age.

Simple Syrup
Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010Simple syrup is just sugar dissolved in water. I’ve seen it sold pre-made in grocery stores. It’s so simple and quick to make, so don’t waste your money on the pre-made bottles. Plus it will keep for about a month in the refrigerator. Use it to sweeten any cold drink, such as ice tea, iced coffee, iced mochas and lattes, and mixed drinks.
