This is a favorite combination in our house.  The sweet Italian sausage adds wonderful flavor and works well in combination with the pizza sauce and roasted red peppers.  If you wish you could also use a spicy Italian sausage.

These little finger appetizers are easy and a great savory, healthy protein snack for game day, or any day.  They are also great for pot luck brunches or picnics, since they work well warm or at room temperature.  They will puff a lot in the oven, but then sink back down as they cool.

This make ahead savory breakfast casserole is great for the holiday season.  Make it the night before.  Let it rest in the refrigerator.  Bake it in the morning while you do other necessary things, or just relax.  If you don’t make the dish ahead, let it sit for 15-20 minutes to allow the bread to soak up the egg mixture.

Here’s an easy way to jazz up sausages.  Just caramelize some onions and peppers in a pan and top the sausages.  If you like your food spicy feel free to add in some hot red pepper flakes or a sliced jalapeno to the onion-pepper mixture.
