Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream

I first heard about Humphry Slocombe Ice Cream on a local television talk show program.  This one of a kind ice cream shop serves crazy, unique, and unlikely ice cream flavors, and they are delicious.  The ice cream has the most wonderful texture and you can feel the smooth rich Straus Cream (the brand they use) coat your tongue.

Review – Comstock Saloon

A few weeks ago we went to Comstock Saloon for a bite to eat.  The entire place is amazing, from the decor to the food, and everything in-between.  When you step inside you feel like you are traveling through time, or probably more accurately, walking onto a movie set.  The staff and musicians dress the part of this Barbary Coast saloon and restaurant.  Every detail of the interior design dates back to historical periods from the wallpaper to the glassware to the wood furniture and lighting.  The clientele in their modern day clothing, and with their modern day portable electronic devices, are the only things reminding you of present day.

Review Il Cane Rosso

Last week I finally had breakfast at Il Cane Rosso in the San Francisco Ferry Building.  I have been eyeing this place since it opened a few years ago, but whenever I’m there it is always so packed.  Last week, I got up early, bought my produce at the Farmer’s Market, and by about 9:30am I got in line for breakfast.  A small bit of a wait, but only about 4-5 couples ahead of me.  The tables were already full however.

Review Sunflower

The other week I went to Sunflower in Potrero Hill with some friends.  It was only my second time really having Vietnamese food.  The place was slammed on a Wednesday evening, and we had to wait about fifteen minutes to get a table.  A line of people continued to form waiting for tables to open.
