Now that we have a yard, we can grow fruits, vegetables, and herbs. This year we planted a lemon cucumber vine and we’ve had quite the harvest – about 10 lemon cucumbers so far, with 5 more on the way.

Tuesday Tip
Burrito It!
For the past few months we’ve been keeping flour tortillas on hand. They last a while if stored in the refrigerator and are great for utilizing leftovers or creating a quick meal whether breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

Meal Plan
Here’s another lunch and dinner meal plan for one week, for two people. Again if you are cooking for more you can easily double the ingredients/recipes. There are some tips and suggestions included for utilizing leftovers. Remember when making salad to keep for leftovers, keep the dressing separate and add it right before eating.

Review of Ratio
I checked out Ratio, by Michael Ruhlman, from the library last year. After reading the book cover to cover I quickly went out and bought it. It’s a great reference book. It gives and explains how to use common ingredient ratios for baking and cooking, including ratios for doughs, batters, stocks, meats, sauces, and custards.
