I purchased a popcorn cob a while back from Sur la Table.  I had seen them many times before at small novelty markets, orchard markets, and gift-type stores, so I finally decided to try one out.  A few weeks later our farmers’ market also had popcorn cobs available for purchase.

This weeks Tuesday Tip is a fun activity to do with kids and a great money saver!

I saw this method for homemade microwave popcorn on a couple of websites within a week of each other.  Then after a Google search found out that the word on homemade microwave popcorn has been out for a while.  I don’t know why I never thought of this before.  It’s a great money saver, since store bought microwave popcorn costs quite a bit more than just buying popcorn kernels.  So skip the preservative laden prepackaged microwave popcorn, and pop your own bag.  Which also allows you to control the amount of real butter or real oil you use.
