Zoku Quick Pop Maker

One of my Christmas gifts this year was the incredible Zoku Quick Pop Maker.  Place the Zoku in the freezer for 24 hours to freeze.  Once the Zoku is frozen, it will make ice pops in about 7-8 minutes.  I have the three pop maker, and it will make up to 9 ice pops, before needing to refreeze.

If you make a lot of homemade soups, then an immersion blender is a very useful kitchen tool investment.  Many immersion blenders come with multiple blade attachments for various jobs – mixing, pureeing, beating, and chopping.  I mainly use the blade for pureeing and mixing.

A double boiler is nothing more than a pot placed over a pot of simmering water.  You want the pot sitting above the simmering water, not touching it.  Also, you want the top pot to sit snugly in the bottom pot, to prevent too much steam from getting into your ingredients.

A large balloon whisk is indispensable in the kitchen.  You can (almost) always use a large whisk or a fork for smaller whisking needs, but you need a large whisk for many tasks in which a small whisk just won’t do.  Look for a whisk with a number of wires with a large bulbous shape.
