This is the time of year when everyone wants to get some dirt under their fingernails. If you are out in your yard looking for a place to start a garden think outside the box. I have planted six of the famous Blue Lake Pole Beans up against my rose trellis this year. I recommend getting your seeds from a reputable company, such as Johnny’s Selected Seeds.

Strawberry Picking Season

Well, it’s that time a year again. We decided to take a nice road trip out of San Francisco in the car to do some strawberry picking. I really couldn’t wait. There is something about harvesting your own food-the smell of the fresh air, the dirt under your nails-that just doesn’t compare to Trader Joes, the farmers market, or however your get your grub.
