These little Italian biscotti are super easy to make, and relatively quick.  Cantuccini are a specific type of biscotti, usually dipped in a sweet Tuscan Italian wine called Vin Santo.  When I was in Italy I was served this after dinner, and it’s delightful.  Vin Santo brings out the flavor of the almonds, and dipping the Cantuccini softens it.

Trader Joe’s Spinach and Kale Bites

These little tender green bites from Trader Joe’s are quite tasty, and a bit addictive.  A perfect healthy appetizer option, they have a slow warm spice, to complement the cheesy spinach and kale.  They are great for kids and a fun way to sneak them some vegetables.  I’m always trying to find healthier vegetable or fruit based appetizers, and this fits the bill.

Mocha Brownie Cake

I decided to make a third of the recipe to fit in my 4½-inch spring form pan.  After all, there’s just two of us, so we don’t need a chocolate cake for 12 people.  It was just the perfect amount for the pan too.  It rose into a dome quite a bit, but that just left me with some extra cake to taste as I assembled.

Domaine Carneros

The other weekend we had the wonderful opportunity of taking a tour and tasting at Domaine Carneros.  This gorgeous French style chateau, completed in 1989, is just off Highway 12/121, with amazing rolling hill vineyard views.  Our particular March visit was raining, but just as beautiful, with verdant green grasses among the dormant vines.
