TWD – Tuesdays with Dorie


These little Italian biscotti are super easy to make, and relatively quick.  Cantuccini are a specific type of biscotti, usually dipped in a sweet Tuscan Italian wine called Vin Santo.  When I was in Italy I was served this after dinner, and it’s delightful.  Vin Santo brings out the flavor of the almonds, and dipping the Cantuccini softens it.

Of course, you can dip these biscotti in anything you wish – coffee, tea, milk, and hot cocoa.

Cantuccini and other biscotti are great cookies to have on hand, because they keep well, and are easy to make with staple ingredients.  I also love that they aren’t super sweet.  They have a gentle sweetness.  It’s the perfect size for a light after dinner dessert.
