TWD – Tuesdays with Dorie

Gingersnaps

This simple little cookie is a snap to make.  I followed the recipe exactly and didn’t have any trouble at all.

Overall I enjoyed the flavor, but if I make these again I would add a bit more spice.  The spice is very mild, and I love strongly spiced cookies.

My cookies did start to firm up as they cooled, but as of yet they have yet to actually snap.  Maybe they just need to cool down a bit longer; it’s only been about fifteen minutes.

I made half with the glaze and half with out.  Both are tasty little cookies.  I did end up baking the cookies with a glaze for an extra couple of minutes.

To get the recipe check out the book Baking with Julia, by Dorie Greenspan.

Mine never got snappy. I was so hoping they would. I wasn’t a big fan of this recipe.

Sandra’s comment echos my thoughts. Glad to hear you enjoyed these. I personally wanted a stronger, spicier flavor.

I like the picture with the cookies on the cooling rack! Unfortunately, I was not a big fan of those cookies…Glad you liked them!
