TWD – Tuesdays with Dorie
Blueberry Muffins and Sweet Berry Fougasse
I decided to make both for this Tuesday with Dorie posting week.
The blueberry muffins were good, but not my favorite. They were a bit too cakelike and sweet for me. I prefer my muffins as muffins. Also, I had a bit of trouble with the oven temperature. I have an oven thermometer, so my oven was at the correct temperature, but the tops were browning faster than the centers were baking. I think a slightly lower oven temperature may have worked better for me. I did like the amount of blueberries in the muffins.
For the Sweet Berry Fougasse, I chose an Autumnal take. I used grapes. I saw David Rocco make a dessert type pizza with grapes and have wanted to try it, so this seemed like an interesting choice now that local grapes are in season. While we have yet to eat it, it went together very well and smells divine. I’ll follow up once we’ve actually tasted it.
