Brillat Savarin Truffle Cheese

My husband grabbed this cheese out of the case the other week, noting anything with truffles is good. This triple cream Brie was outstanding.

Brillat Savarin is made from cow’s milk in Burgundy, France. Very rich, with a velvety texture, and notes of savory truffles make this a great dessert cheese, or mid-afternoon snack (as we had it). I savored every bite; constantly mentioning the cheese was amazing. It’s also supposed to be great with Champagne, but we haven’t tried that pairing yet.

We plan to get some of this for Christmas. Perhaps we will try it with Champagne.

  1. I have had this cheese where the truffle line was infused from the make not post production and it is truly decadent and delightful. My mouth misses it greatly. I am trying to find it locally in the Philly area or at least to see if any of my cheese mongers can get it for me. Whole Foods has specialties per store so not all stores have the same thing sadly.
