Ham and Tam Sandwich from Cowgirl Creamery Sidekick

The other morning I picked up a sandwich from Cowgirl Creamery Sidekick on my way to work.  This was my first purchase from Cowgirl Creamery Sidekick, although it’s been open for quite awhile.

The Ham and Tam sandwich is served on an Acme Challah roll with Cowgirl Creamery’s own Mt Tam Cheese (triple-cream), and of course the ham.  A nice spread of maple syrup mustard topped it off.

The maple syrup mustard was an excellent addition providing a nice vinegary tang and a slight sweetness, which paired beautifully with the salty ham and buttery sweet, creamy Mt Tam cheese.

The sandwiches are cold/room temperature, which is great if you aren’t planning to necessarily eat it right away.  Next time I think I will toast mine slightly in the toaster oven to get the cheese a little warm and gooey.

The best part is this sandwich can be made at home.  Pick up some Mt Tam cheese (if your store carries it) or purchase some online.  Pick up a challah roll.  Add a bit of maple syrup to some nice, grainy mustard and pick up some thinly sliced ham.  There you have it!  A Tam and Ham sandwich.
