Wrapping Base of Bowl

Tuesday Tip

When making a salad dressing or other sauce when you need to drizzle an ingredient in as you whisk, can sometimes pose a problem of bowl stability.  Often another hand seems helpful.  Since you may not have the luxury of another set of hands in the kitchen, take a kitchen towel and wrap it around the base of the bowl.  You might also find it helpful to place the bowl on top of a plastic cutting mat or another towel, to really help stabilize the bowl.  Now your hands or free for whisking and drizzling, and the bowl should be relatively stable.  It also helps to use quite a large bowl so you have a lot of room to whisk.
