Review Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Bar – Toffee with Walnuts and Pecans
This chocolate bar is made with 70% cacao, like the Caramel with Sea Salt I reviewed last week. The flavor of the bar is also similar, and not just because of the cacao percentage. The toffee is not unlike the caramel in taste, possibly a bit more buttery. The texture of the chocolate bars is very different, however. The toffee is hard and added to the bar in small bits, so it’s much less messy, compared to the gooey caramel bar. Sea salt is also added to the chocolate bar to enhance the flavor of the chocolate and toffee. The nuts are very tiny pieces and hardly noticeable. In fact, I may only notice them if I had the same chocolate bar, but without the nuts, for a comparison.
Overall a great tasting chocolate bar, but I think I like the Caramel with Sea Salt better. Although for traveling, this bar is neater, and still very delicious. Find them both at Trader Joe’s.
