Cheese of the Month – Cowgirl Creamery St Pat

If you haven’t noticed, I’ve been tasting many of Cowgirl Creamery’s cheeses to write about for the cheese of the month posts.  The St Pat cheese is a seasonal springtime cheese, so I thought I would grab a round this year before it was too late.

Behind the Doors – The Pantry Part I

I’ve been thinking about the best way to tackle the pantry topic.  I love looking at celebrity chefs’ Top 10 Pantry Lists, or pantry lists in cookbooks, but the truth is, a pantry is very personalized and what is on someone’s list may not need to be on your list.  The concept of the pantry is to have commonly used ingredients always on hand, whether dry and canned goods in a cupboard, freezer foods, or condiments in the refrigerator.

Review Lawson’s Landing

This past weekend we went camping at Lawson’s Landing near Dillon Beach, which is on the Tomales Bay, just west of the small town of Tomales.  Since it’s on the coast it is super windy, but despite the wind we still had fun exploring the shores of Tomales Bay, watching people dig clams, climbing the sand dunes, and taking a trip into town.

Saturday morning we were awoken in quite the unusual way.  Take a look…

Salmon, Asparagus and Cream Cheese Omelet

I had some leftover salmon and roasted asparagus last week from dinner, so I decided to put it in an omelet.  It was a great breakfast dish.  It would also make an amazing brunch, lunch or dinner.  Add a side salad for a larger meal.
