Checking Out Cookbooks from the Library

Cookbooks are the type of books I prefer to own myself, rather than check them out from the library.  Since they are reference books and I’ll be using them in the kitchen it’s just nice to have them on hand.  Also, when you’re in the mood for a certain dish, you don’t want to run to the library to get a recipe and then run to the grocery to get the ingredients.

However, checking a cookbook out of the library is a great way to test a cookbook to see if you’ll actually use it.  Why buy a cookbook, just to find out it is more time consuming or more difficult than you expected.  I like to check a cookbook out and do a test run to see if I actually like the recipes as well.

So, next time you’re thinking of getting a cookbook, check it out first.
