Review – Frog Hollow Farm’s Apricot Conserve
I purchased conserves from Frog Hollow Farm for the first time last week to use for the Roast Pork with Apricot Miso Glaze Bon Appétit magazine recipe. I am so glad my husband picked up two jars. The apricot conserve is absolutely divine. I new it would be, since every pear, peach, and plum I’ve purchased from the Frog Hollow Farm stand at the market has been sweet and juicy, with fruit juice dripping down my wrists.
The conserve is slightly sweetened with organic sugar and contains large pieces of apricots. Sometimes I scoop out an entire apricot half. The conserve makes for a decadent spread on English muffins or toast. It’s also wonderful topped on pancakes or French toast. Tonight I think I’m going to gently heat some apricot conserve on the stove and ladle it over vanilla ice cream.
Check out the Frog Hollow Farm site and have some delivered if you don’t live nearby a store that carries Frog Hollow Farm products. They offer gift boxes, sets and combos. It would be an excellent Valentine’s Day gift—a bit different than the common chocolate, offering the tastes of summer fruit in the middle of winter.
