If you’re going to visit the Napa Valley, make reservations for Mustards Grill.  Everything we ordered was delicious.  Everything on the menu looked delicious and the wine list is huge.  I find it fun to try a local wine, so if you really like it you can possibly head to the winery afterwards.  Reservations are a must, unless you don’t mind waiting for about an hour.  We went on a Sunday afternoon at 2pm and the place was packed.

To start we ordered the Dungeness Crab Cakes with Chipotle Mayo for an appetizer.  They were more like large puffs.  The cakes were crisp on the outside and light and delicate on the inside.  The chipotle mayo was a nice tangy, smoky dipping sauce.

For my main entrée I ordered the fish of the day, Grilled Wild Salmon with Sweet Corn and Chanterelle Mushroom Risotto.  This dish was absolutely divine.  The salmon was tender, flakey, and succulent.  The corn added a nice sweetness to the risotto and the soft chanterelle mushrooms contributed a savory note to help balance out the dish.

My husband ordered the “Spanish Style” Grilled Chicken Sandwich.  The sandwich was topped with roasted sweet peppers, onions, and nutty manchego cheese, providing the perfect balance of sweet and savory.  Alongside were fresh, homemade, crunchy BBQ potato chips.

Last, we had to order a side of the Jalapeno Cornbread Stix with Marshall’s Farm Honey-Butter.  They were baked in those cute little cornbread-shaped pans to create a fun presentation.  The cornbread itself is more sweet than spicy.  Marshall’s Farm honey-butter provided a creamy, sweet spread to top it off.
