Freezing Pancakes and French Toast

August 17th, 2010 by Erin Gennow

Here’s your Tuesday Tip!

When I make pancakes or French toast on the weekends I like making extra so I can enjoy pancakes or French toast in the middle of the week. Here’s how… I wrap the extras individually with plastic wrap and put them in a zip top freezer bag.  All I need to do in the morning is pop the frozen pancake or French toast slice in the toaster, or the toaster oven.  There you go, it’s that easy!  Now you can have homemade pancakes or French toast any workday morning.

I’ve been doing this with homemade waffles for some time but never thought about pancakes or french toast before – no doubt because I’ve become used to the idea of “toaster waffles” already. These are great to have around as a snack if you have kids. And I’ve also found it’s very easy to put powdered green foods into the batter without my kid noticing.

What kind/brand of powdered green foods do you prefer? How much do you add in? Great idea!
