Back in June we visited the Los Gatos Farmers’ Market.  It’s located in Downtown Los Gatos off West Main Street and South Santa Cruz Avenue, right in the Town Plaza Park.  We arrived on the early side, around 9:30 and it was still fairly calm and we were able to talk with the vendors, who were all very helpful.  By the time we finished around 11am the place was quite crowded, but filled with the joys of a hot summer day.

There are a nice variety of vendors at the Los Gatos market and going at the beginning of June the stone fruits and berries were just starting to become available.  Along with the many fruit and vegetable vendors, there was also a local honey producer, which produces honey from bees in the Santa Cruz Mountains, many flower and herb vendors, and even some prepared foods including a Mexican food stand and a crepe stand, which had a super long line.  The only vendors that seemed missing were local meat and cheese producers, but the market is on the smaller side.

The location is excellent, since children and dogs have the park area to run and play.  The day we went it was hot, so by 11am children were already running through the huge water fountain.

All in all it’s a great little market for the town, offering a pretty good variety of local produce and foods and an excellent location.

The market is open on Sundays.  The day we went the hours were 8am to 1pm.  Hours do vary by season though, so check local listing before going.
