If you are just learning to cook start simple. Make only one cooking habit change, or try one new recipe, the first week. The next week, try another new change or recipe.
When I first began to truly cook from scratch, I started with simple dishes. I didn’t go out and buy an entire pantry’s worth of ingredients.
I definitely didn’t go out and buy every piece of kitchen equipment known to man. I made cooking changes gradually. Trying a new recipe or meal once a week. I slowly built up my recipe repertoire. The foods I purchased gradually changed as well, but naturally, as I began to cook more frequently. Now, besides a few exceptions, I hardly ever have prepackaged foods in the house.
