Here’s an easy way to have rich, strong, cold coffee ready to make your favorite cold coffee drink. Use this concentrate for iced coffees, iced lattes, iced mochas, and frappes!
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Inactive Prep Time: 10-12 hours
Serves: Makes about 1 quart
Ingredients
1 lb coffee beans
2 quarts of water
Equipment
A large non-reactive pot, a pitcher, fine mesh sieve
Procedure
Grind the coffee to a course grind.
Pour the coffee in a large pot and cover it with 2 quarts of cold water. Place a lid on the pot and let it sit overnight or for up to 12 hours.
Strain the coffee concentrate through a fine mesh sieve into a bowl, and then pour the concentrate into the pitcher.
The concentrate will keep for up to two weeks in the refrigerator.
